The National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI), is seeking to acquire a high-performance Ti:Sapphire laser system for advanced imaging applications. - Government Buyer: - National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI), Office of Logistics and Multiple Acquisition Operations - OEMs and Vendors: - Spectra-Physics (manufacturer of the MaiTai DeepSee Ti:Sapphire Laser and the trade-in MaiTai HP DS model) - Products/Services Requested: - One (1) MaiTai DeepSee Ti:Sapphire Laser (NSN 7540-01-152-8067) - Fully automated, one-box, mode-locked Ti:Sapphire laser with automated DeepSee dispersion compensation - Optimized for Leica multiphoton microscope - Tuning range: 690-1040 nm; pulse duration < 100 fsec; peak power > 266 kW at 800 nm - Includes CPU-controlled GUI, on-board diagnostics, rack-mountable power supply, chiller, and rack accessory - One-year unlimited-hours warranty - Installation, beam alignment, and operator training by manufacturer or authorized representative - Unique/Notable Requirements: - Trade-in of one used Spectra-Physics MaiTai HP DS Ti:Sapphire laser for credit - Delivery, installation, and training must be completed within 180 days after order receipt (earlier preferred) - System must be compatible with existing Leica multiphoton microscope - Includes full system warranty and on-site support

Description

(i) This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested, and a separate written solicitation will not be issued.(ii) The solicitation number is 75N98026Q00689. This solicitation is issued as a competitive combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial products or commercial services. The Government intends to award a contract or purchase order resulting from this solicitation using full and open competition.This acquisition is conducted under the authority of FAR 12.603, Streamlined Solicitation for Commercial Products or Commercial Services, and is not expected to exceed the simplified acquisition threshold.The National Institutes of Health (NIH), Office of the Director, Office of Acquisitions, intends to negotiate and award a firm-fixed-price purchase order to the responsible offeror whose proposal represents the best value to the Government.(iii) The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2026-01, effective 03/13/2026.(iv) The associated NAICS code is 334516, Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing, and the small business size standard is 1,000 employees.¿ This requirement is unrestricted.
