SUNY Polytechnic Institute is seeking bids for the supply, installation, and commissioning of a Mini-Molecular Beam Epitaxy (MBE) System and associated utilities for advanced semiconductor material synthesis and research. - Government Buyer: - State University of New York (SUNY), SUNY Polytechnic Institute, Procurement Office - OEMs and Vendors: - MBE system OEMs must have at least 10 years of experience in primary manufacture of MBE systems - Mass Flow Controllers must be from reputable manufacturers such as MKS Instruments or Horiba - Gas purifiers may include brands like GateKeeper - Products/Services Requested: - Mini-Molecular Beam Epitaxy System (compact, research-grade, computer-controlled, optimized for 2-inch wafers) - Includes process chamber, loadlock, in-situ characterization (RHEED, RGA, BFM), multiple effusion cells (for Ga, In, Al, Mg, Si, etc.), RF plasma source for nitrogen, wafer transfer, bakeout, control system, software, computers, UPS, and optional UV light source - Gas Distribution System (SEMI-S2 compliant): - Gas cabinets, manifolds, supply panels, piping, safety features, and gas purifiers (e.g., for N2, H2) - Mass Flow Controllers (MKS, Horiba) - One-time supply of semiconductor-grade gases (N2, H2, SiH4, GeH4) - Chilled Water System: 25L recirculating chiller with flow and temperature meters - Liquid Nitrogen Container (240L/300L) with supply and exhaust lines - Exhaust ducting for gas cabinets and MBE pumps - Services: - Onsite installation, setup, validation, and commissioning by factory-certified personnel - Minimum two days of onsite training for scientific staff and faculty, plus five days of operational support - Two-year full warranty with option for three additional years; onsite service response within five business days - Unique/Notable Requirements: - Vendors must provide detailed safety and operational certifications (UL/NRTL, OSHA, SEMI-S2 compliance) - All documentation and correspondence in American English and U.S. currency - Bidders must submit cost proposal, references, subcontractor info, and compliance forms - Dealers must have OEM authorization - System must be delivered, installed, and commissioned onsite, with removal of packing materials and inside delivery - All hazardous gas systems must be assembled in a clean room, with leak and particle testing

SUNY Polytechnic Institute is seeking bids from responsible and responsive vendors to provide a Mini-Molecular Beam Epitaxy System that meets or exceeds the attached specifications for use in an educational setting. The procurement will establish a Purchase Order for a one-time purchase awarded to the lowest responsible bidder. Bidders must submit all mandatory attachments with their response electronically by the specified due date. The procurement is subject to New York State Finance Law sections 139j and 139k, restricting contact to the designated procurement assistant.
