NASA Marshall Space Flight Center is seeking specialized stainless steel components for cryocooler testing. - Government Buyer: - NASA, Marshall Space Flight Center - OEM/Vendor: - FOTOFAB, LLC (sole source identified) - Products Requested: - 10 chemically etched SS316 flat plates (part number MER08397-003) - Fabricated to tight dimensional tolerances (+/- 0.004) - 3 PCHE recuperator cores (part number MER08380-001) - Each core is a diffusion bonded stack of 32 plates (0.05" SS316 for layers 1 & 32, 0.025" SS316 for layers 2-31) - Dimensional tolerances: +/- 0.004 (0.025" plates), +/- 0.010 (0.05" plates) - 2 alternate PCHE recuperator cores (part number MER08935-001) - Same construction and tolerances as above, but per alternate drawing - Unique/Notable Requirements: - All parts must meet AS9100D / ISO9001:2015 quality standards - Tight dimensional tolerances are required for all components - Deliverables will be shipped to NASA MSFC in Huntsville, AL - No services are requested in this procurement
Description
Synopsis:
NASA/NSSC has a requirement for SS316 Subscale Recuperator Core.
NASA/NSSC intends to issue a sole source contract to FOTOFAB, LLC: 3758 W BELMONT AVE | CHICAGO, IL 60618 under the authority of FAR 12.102(a). It has been determined that FOTOFAB, LLC is the sole provider of SS316 Subscale Recuperator Core.
NASA/NSSC will be the procuring center for this effort. Performance will be located at NASA/ Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC).
The Government intends to acquire Commercial items or services using the provisions, clauses and procedures prescribed in FAR Part 12 for Commercial.
The NAICS Code for this procurement is 332999.
Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 3:00 p.m. Central Standard Time on 6/25/2026. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government.
