This public notice concerns the application for material site designation and sale along the Richardson Highway at milepost 74, approximately 76 miles northeast of Valdez, Alaska. The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) has applied to designate this 154-acre site for material extraction and to purchase 100,000 cubic yards of material at the Public and Charitable rate for the period 2026-2030. The designation is requested to be indefinite with a sale term of 5 years. The material consists of hard gneiss and schist bedrock suitable for riprap and crushed aggregate, and blasting will be required. The site is accessed via a 3.5 mile road originating at MP 74 Richardson Highway.
