The New York State Thruway Authority is seeking qualified engineering firms to provide construction inspection support services for bridge and highway projects in the Albany Division. - Government Buyer: - New York State Thruway Authority, Department of Procurement Services, Engineering Department - Scope of Services: - Construction inspection and oversight for rehabilitation of Catskill Bridge and Kaaterskill Bridge on I-87 - Additional assignments may include projects in Albany, Columbia, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Schenectady, and Ulster counties - Services include: - Inspection of asphalt and concrete pavement reconstruction - Bridge and culvert rehabilitation - Retaining wall stabilization - Sign structure repairs - Pavement marking installation - Drainage and highway safety improvements - Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) repairs and installation - Facility repairs and emergency on-demand work - Material testing, permit (utility) work, work zone traffic control - Review of shop drawings, plant and material inspection - Occasional nighttime inspection - Staffing Requirements: - 1 Project Engineer (ASCE IV) - 2-3 Office Engineers/Chief Inspectors (NICET IV) - 3 Inspectors (NICET III) - 3-5 Inspectors (NICET II) - Part-time scheduler services as needed - Notable Requirements: - Compliance with New York State laws on embodied carbon reporting and environmental product declarations - Adherence to prevailing wage rates and labor laws - Registration with NYSDOL and NYS Department of Education - Completion of Vendor Responsibility Questionnaire - Certification of sexual harassment prevention policies - MWBE participation goal: 30% - SDVOB participation goal: 6% - Estimated contract value: $5,000,000 - Contract term: Four years with an option for one additional year extension

Description

The New York State Thruway Authority seeks to retain a qualified engineering firm to provide construction inspection services for various projects in the Albany Division, primarily focusing on Catskill Bridge and Kaaterskill Bridge Rehabilitation on I-87. The work includes asphalt and concrete pavement reconstruction, bridge and culvert rehabilitation, retaining wall stabilization, sign structure repairs, pavement markings, drainage and highway safety improvements, ITS repairs, facility repairs, emergency work, material testing, permit work, traffic control, shop drawing reviews, and plant/material inspections. The contract term is four years with an option to extend for one additional year, and the estimated contract value is $5,000,000. The Authority requires compliance with NYS laws, prevailing wage rates, and MWBE/SDVOB participation goals.
