This procurement opportunity is for the supply of blood and blood products, as well as related laboratory and apheresis services, for the Department of Veterans Affairs Nebraska-Western Iowa Health Care System. - Government Buyer: - Department of Veterans Affairs - Network Contracting Office 23 (NCO 23) - OEM and Vendor: - The American National Red Cross (sole source, OEM and service provider) - Products and Services Requested: - Blood and blood products, including: - Leukoreduced red blood cell units - Blood components - Plasma derivatives - All products must be FDA-registered and processed per AABB and FDA standards - Reference laboratory testing services (24/7, CLIA-certified, routine/ASAP/STAT) - Therapeutic apheresis services (on-site, per physician order, with equipment and monitoring) - Unique or Notable Requirements: - All blood products must be procured from volunteer donors and comply with AABB and FDA regulations - Laboratory testing must be available around the clock and meet federal and state requirements - Apheresis services must be available during business hours with emergency support as staffing allows - All services and products are for human administration at the Omaha VA Medical Center - The American National Red Cross is the only OEM and vendor specified for this requirement

NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE . The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 23 intends to enter into single source negotiations, and subsequently award a firm fixed-price contract for one year with four option years to The American National Red Cross, 431 18th St. NW, Washington, DC 2006 (SAM UEI: G69LHXJ3ABL5) for Blood and Blood Products in support of the Nebraska Western-Iowa Health Care System.
