The Air Force Mortuary Affairs Operations (AFMAO) at Dover Air Force Base is seeking a vendor to design, fabricate, and deliver a Mobile Embalming Unit (MEU) for mortuary operations. - Government Buyer: - Department of the Air Force, Air Force Mortuary Affairs Operations (AFMAO), Dover Air Force Base - Products/Services Requested: - Mobile Embalming Unit (MEU) housed in a 20-foot high cube ISO-compliant shipping container made of Corten steel - Fully self-contained, deployable embalming suite - Plumbing system with water heater, VPK pump, water and waste tanks (1400 gallons combined), and external access - Tri-fuel generator with backup power connection - OSHA-compliant HVAC system with formaldehyde fume control - Lighting and power for 50 amp service - Stainless steel cabinetry and shelving - Embalming sink with hot/cold water fixtures and vacuum hydro aspirator - Stainless steel wall and ceiling panels, non-porous resinous flooring, and proper insulation - Movable body lift with scale - Secure locking mechanisms and safety equipment compliant with OSHA, DoD, and ANSI standards - Designed for international transport by air, sea, and land - Initial onsite training for licensed embalmers on operation and maintenance of the MEU - 1-year warranty on parts and maintenance - Unique/Notable Requirements: - MEU must be rapidly deployable, ruggedized for harsh environments, and painted desert tan/beige - Must support both self-contained and externally supported operation (generator and municipal utility hook-ups) - Must comply with OSHA and DoD mortuary standards, including formaldehyde fume control and safety features - Includes design, fabrication, delivery, warranty, and onsite training - No specific OEMs or vendors are named in the notice - No part numbers are specified; quantity is one MEU

Description

The Government is conducting market research to identify potential sources capable of providing a Mobile Embalming Unit (MEU). The primary purpose of the MEU is to deliver a fully self-contained, rapidly deployable embalming capability to support mortuary affairs operations. The MEU is a critical asset supporting the Air Force Mortuary Affairs Operations (AFMAO) global mission. It ensures the Department of War maintains the capability to provide immediate, dignified care and preparation of fallen service members in austere, forward-deployed, or geographically separated environments where permanent mortuary facilities are unavailable.

Potential vendors must demonstrate the capability to manufacture, assemble, or provide a mobile unit that meets the following essential features:

Unit Configuration: A 1-station, fully kitted mobile embalming workspace. Environmental Controls: HVAC and ventilation systems that are fully compliant with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Department of Defense (DoD) standards for mortuary environments. Operational Modes: The system must possess the ability to operate in two distinct configurations:

<li>
<p>Transportability:&nbsp;Engineered for rapid and easy transportability across air, sea, and land logistics networks.</p>

<li>
<p>Integrated Equipment:&nbsp;Must include a mortuary lift equipped with an integrated scale.</p>
