This notice involves two regulatory actions from the U.S. Department of Transportation: - The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) received a petition from Ford Motor Company regarding certain 2022-2025 Ford Transit vehicles. - Issue: The engine Push To Start (PTS) button is labeled 'Power Start Stop' instead of the required 'Engine Start Stop,' which does not comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 101. - Ford asserts the noncompliance is inconsequential to safety and requests exemption from notification and remedy requirements. - Approximately 19,341 vehicles are affected. - Ford Motor Company is the only OEM mentioned. - The Maritime Administration (MARAD) seeks public comment on the renewal of the Capital Construction Fund information collection. - This program assists U.S. vessel owners/operators in tax-deferred ship construction funding. - No products or services are being procured; this is a regulatory and information collection notice. - No procurement or contract opportunity is present in this notice.
Description
Ford Motor Company has determined that certain model year 2022-2025 Ford Transit motor vehicles do not fully comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 101, Controls and Displays. Ford filed a noncompliance report and petitioned NHTSA for a decision that the noncompliance is inconsequential as it relates to motor vehicle safety. The petition concerns the labeling on the engine Push To Start button, which is labeled incorrectly but functions properly. Comments on the petition must be submitted by July 22, 2026.
