Description
The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is seeking public comment on its proposal to extend for three years the current Paperwork Reduction Act (PRA) clearance for information collection requirements of its Rule Governing Pre-Sale Availability of Written Warranty Terms. This rule requires sellers and warrantors to make the text of any written warranty on a consumer product costing more than $15 available to the consumer before sale. The current clearance expires on July 31, 2026, and comments must be received by July 22, 2026. The FTC estimates significant annual burden hours and labor costs associated with compliance.
