Description
The American Museum of Natural History intends to repatriate a cultural item defined as an object of cultural patrimony with affiliation to Indian Tribes or Native Hawaiian organizations. The item is a wooden mask used for maternity rites, accessioned in 1903, and connected to the Oneida Indian Nation. Repatriation may occur on or after July 22, 2026. Requests for repatriation must be submitted in writing to the museum's authorized representative.
