Description

In accordance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA), the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology (Penn Museum) has completed an inventory of human remains. The museum has determined a cultural affiliation between the human remains and Indian Tribes or Native Hawaiian organizations. The notice details the repatriation process and identifies the Mashantucket Pequot Indian Tribe and the Mohegan Tribe of Indians of Connecticut as culturally affiliated. Repatriation may occur on or after July 22, 2026.
