Description
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator signed an Order dated May 27, 2026, denying a petition dated November 12, 2025, from the Harris County Attorney's Office. The petition requested that the EPA object to a Clean Air Act title V operating permit issued by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality to the ExxonMobil Corporation for its Baytown Olefins Plant located in Harris County, Texas. The order explains the basis for the EPA's decision. Judicial review of the order portions denying the petition may be filed in the appropriate United States Court of Appeals by August 21, 2026.
