Description
The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) amends regulations to revise the requirement that motor carriers and intermodal equipment providers sign and return a completed roadside inspection form to the issuing State agency. The amendment acknowledges that not all issuing State agencies require the return of these reports, and requiring submission to States that do not request them creates an unnecessary burden. Under the new rule, completed forms will only be returned to States that request them. This change responds to a petition for rulemaking from the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA).
