The Office of Justice Programs, Bureau of Justice Statistics, Department of Justice (DOJ), is submitting an information collection request to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) for review and approval under the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995. This collection involves the 2026 Census of State and Local Law Enforcement Agencies (CSLLEA), which includes all state, county, local, and tribal law enforcement agencies in the U.S. employing at least one full-time sworn officer. The survey aims to collect data from approximately 22,000 agencies with an estimated total annual burden of 13,566 hours and an associated cost burden of $521,000.
