(lightning protection system) - Products/Services Requested: - Removal and replacement of existing roof with new GAF Timberline ArmorShield II shingles - Includes GAF WeatherWatch ice and water shield, GAF FeltBuster underlayment, GAF Pro-Start starter shingles, GAF Seal-A-Ridge ridge cap shingles - Quantity: 1 complete roof system - Removal and installation of new lightning protection system - Must be installed by a certified Lightning Protection Institute member - Must use UL 96 and UL 96A compliant materials (Robbins Lightning, Inc. or equivalent) - Quantity: 1 system - Alternate bid for removal and replacement of gutters and downspouts with pre-finished white aluminum components - Quantity: 1 system - Unique/Notable Requirements: - Building will remain operational during construction; contractors must ensure safety of staff, animals, and equipment - Strict site safety, debris management, and coordination with ISU representatives required - One-year labor and material warranty for roof and lightning protection system; 25-year manufacturer warranty for shingle roof - Performance and payment bonds required for projects exceeding $25,000 - Contractor to propose project duration; must coordinate scheduling and site access with ISU - Pre-bid meeting and site visit required for bidders

Iowa State University of Science and Technology (ISU) is soliciting proposals from qualified contractors to remove and replace the roof of the Ruminant Nutrition Laboratory located at 1026 N University Blvd, Ames, IA. The project includes removal of existing shingles, installation of new roofing materials, and replacement of gutters and downspouts as specified in the project drawings. An optional pre-bid meeting and site visit is scheduled for July 8, 2026, at 9:30 AM CT. Contractors must submit questions by July 10, 2026, and proposals by July 15, 2026.
