Description
This project aims to enhance, recalibrate, validate, and operationalize the existing HydroGeoSphere (HGS) models for the Peace and Athabasca River Basin in northern Alberta to support near real-time, short-term, and seasonal hydrological forecasting. The basins are vulnerable due to recent droughts, changing snowpack and ice dynamics, and increasing water-use pressures. The models currently lack real-time meteorological data integration and require optimization and validation for operational forecasting. The contract duration is 8 months starting from July 31, 2026.
