This opportunity is for fence repair and rebuilding at the Turnbull National Wildlife Refuge, managed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS). - Government Buyer: - U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS), Construction A/E Team 3, Portland, OR, and Turnbull NWR - Point of contact: Tariq Malveaux (FWS Construction A/E Team 3) - Scope of Work: - Maintenance, repair, and rebuilding of up to 5 miles of wildlife-friendly boundary fencing - Approximately 1.5 miles of fence to be rebuilt - Approximately 3.5 miles of fence to be repaired - Removal of old wire and installation of new 3-strand barbed/smooth wire fencing - Use of metal T-posts spaced 16 feet apart, with wood or steel pipe corner braces - Installation of new high-tensile galvanized barbed and smooth wire (12.5-gauge minimum), meeting ASTM A121 and ASTM 641 standards, with a 20-year supplier warranty - Use of pressure-treated wood posts (UC4C extreme heavy-duty), galvanized steel staples, and standard steel T-posts (minimum 1.25 lbs/ft) - Repair of existing wire gates and disposal of old fencing materials - All work to be performed per USFWS wildlife-friendly design to protect migratory bird and wildlife habitat - Products/Materials: - Wildlife-friendly boundary fence wire (barbed and smooth, 12.5-gauge galvanized) - Fence fasteners (9-gauge galvanized steel staples, manufacturer clips, or 14-gauge wire) - Pressure-treated wood posts and braces (minimum 5-inch top diameter) - Steel T-posts (minimum 1.25 lbs/ft, painted green, weather-resistant) - Unique Requirements: - Fencing must be wildlife-friendly and meet specific USFWS design standards - Materials must meet ASTM standards and carry a 20-year warranty - Work must be scheduled considering weather and fire danger - No specific OEMs or branded products are named; materials must meet performance and durability standards. - Estimated contract value: $25,000 to $60,000 - Total small business set-aside under NAICS 238990
