FCI Atlanta Inner East Gate Replacement – TyMetal Service Slider Gate System and Operator

The Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP), Federal Correctional Institute (FCI) Atlanta, is seeking a contractor to replace the inner East Gate at its Atlanta facility with a modern, wall-mounted service slider gate system. - Government Buyer: - Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) - Federal Correctional Institute Atlanta (FCI Atlanta) - USP Atlanta (referenced in attachments) - OEMs and Vendors: - TyMetal (referenced for gate system and operator) - Equivalent manufacturers may be considered for the gate operator - Products/Services Requested: - TyMetal PLUSS10 Closed Loop Beam Service Slider Gate System (1 unit) - Wall-mounted, replaces existing swinging gate - TYM0-VS Type Gate Operator or approved equivalent (1 unit) - Includes installation and integration with locking column - Locking Column System (1 unit) - Alignment, timing adjustment, and system integration - Temporary Security Gate (1 unit) - For use during project duration - Concrete forms, beams, ramps, and foundations (1 lot) - Supports new gate installation - Computer laptop with software and license for PLC programming (1 unit) - For programming gate system if necessary - Installation, testing, and certification services (1 lot) - Performed by manufacturer-certified technicians - Manufacturer factory-certified training for two BOP employees - On operation and maintenance of installed gate systems - Unique or Notable Requirements: - All work must be performed by manufacturer-certified installers - Contractor must follow all manufacturers’ recommendations and comply with all codes and standards - Training and system certification for BOP staff is required - Security clearance and compliance with DOJ information security policies are mandatory - Contractor responsible for removal/disposal of old equipment and site restoration - Work hours are restricted to Thursday afternoon through early Monday morning unless otherwise approved - All measurements must be verified by the contractor prior to fabrication and installation

Description

The Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP), Federal Correctional Institute (FCI), Atlanta, (FCI Atlanta) located at 601 McDonough Blvd SE, Atlanta, GA, intends to make a single award to a responsible entity that will provide all necessary equipment, labor, materials, and incidentals to replace the antique swinging East Gate (inner gate). The contractor is responsible for verifying all measurements, fabricating the fencing/gate systems and installing the fencing and gate systems and all associated hardware and drive mechanisms. All manufacturers’ recommendations will be required to be implemented.

Period of performance is estimated 153 calendar days from the issuance of the Notice ot Proceed to testing and acceptance of the project. The time frame allotted will allow adequate time for security clearances to be obtained, materials to be ordered and delivered on site, the removal of the old equipment, the work to be completed, system testing to be completed, and demobilization from the work site.
