The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is seeking qualified vendors for a turnkey generator replacement project at Building U on its Headquarters Campus in Austin, Texas. - Government Buyer: - Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) - Procurement and Contract Services; Facilities Bureau - Project Scope: - Complete removal of the existing emergency generator, automatic transfer switch (ATS), mechanical yard, and related equipment - Installation of two new parallel 1,000 kW diesel generators (277/480V, 3-phase, 4-wire) with sound-attenuated enclosures, vibration isolators, and accessories (battery, exhaust silencer, block heater, fuel system) - Installation of a 3000A automatic transfer switch (ATS) and a dual-purpose docking station with Kirk-key interlock for temporary generator or load bank connection - Installation of generator distribution panel, new electrical equipment, wiring, conduit, grounding, and identification per specifications - Construction of an 8-inch thick concrete generator pad and 6-inch thick concrete paving (2,045 sq ft) - Reinstallation of the mechanical yard and enclosure - Additive alternate: Replace 74 linear feet of 8-ft ornamental fence with a CMU wall to match the existing generator enclosure wall - Services and Deliverables: - Project management, detailed schedule, and phased construction plan to maintain continuous facility operations and safety - Provision of equipment specifications, technical cutsheets, and warranty (2 years from startup) - Training and testing plans, including 4 hours of training for Owner's personnel - Proper disposal of all debris and compliance with NFPA-110, NEC, and UL 1008 standards - Unique Requirements: - All work must be coordinated to minimize disruption to ongoing operations and maintain safety and security - Emphasis on vendor qualifications, HUB participation, and compliance with wage rates and insurance requirements - No specific OEMs are named; open to qualified manufacturers meeting technical requirements

Description

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is soliciting proposals for a complete generator replacement project at Building U on the DPS Headquarters Campus. The project includes removal of existing generator equipment and installation, configuration, and testing of a new 1,000kw parallelled emergency generator system. The contractor must provide a turnkey solution including electrical equipment installation, mechanical yard reinstallation, training, and testing plans.
