The City of Chesapeake Public Works department is seeking bids for the construction of a new Public Safety Training Academy to support Police, Fire, and Sheriff staff. - Government Buyer: - City of Chesapeake Public Works - Project Scope: - Construction of a comprehensive training facility with both academic/classroom and outdoor training areas - Specialized facilities include: - Class A burn building and burn material storage - Classroom and outdoor classroom buildings - Confined space rescue props and storage - Drafting pits and multiuse drill tower with active threat layouts - Rooftop simulator, gas burn props, and flashover simulator - Driver training, dumpster, extrication, and fire simulation pads - Fire training building and K9 training area - Lawfit obstacle course and law enforcement training building - Liquid Propane (LP) tanks, mobile props, and rail car simulator - Police and sheriff muster pads - Shoring/Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) equipment storage - Tanker truck simulator, underground containment tank, and urban search and rescue area - Wet BMP training pond - Facility will have secured access, self-contained sanitary sewer, and drain field - Products/Services Requested: - Construction of all listed specialized buildings, simulators, and training props - Septic tank maintenance and repair services for the facility's sanitary system - Unique/Notable Requirements: - Bidders must submit a fully completed bid pricing spreadsheet - Mandatory pre-bid meeting attendance required - Multiple addenda and detailed project drawings provided - No specific OEMs or vendors are named in the solicitation
