NASA's Exploration Projects and Integration Office at Marshall Space Flight Center is seeking a vendor for Sabatier catalyst development to support life support systems: - Government Buyer: - NASA, Exploration Projects and Integration Office, Marshall Space Flight Center, Engineering Directorate, Space Systems Department - Products Requested: - 400 cc of baseline Sabatier catalyst (ruthenium chloride/alumina, ~20% Ru by weight) - 500 cc total batch of baseline catalyst (400 cc delivered, 100 cc for testing) - Three alternate catalyst formulations (approx. 50 cc each), including at least one nickel-based formulation - 1-2 samples of commercially available methanation catalysts for comparative testing - Services Requested: - Synthesis of catalyst batches - Performance testing (light off temperature, product composition) - Poisoning tests with multiple contaminants - Delivery of detailed data packages (Catalyst Data Package, Test Data Package) - Notable Requirements: - Baseline catalyst must use ruthenium chloride with ~20% Ru by weight - Testing includes both baseline and alternate formulations, with extended contaminant exposure - Vendor must provide comprehensive data on catalyst performance and durability - No specific OEMs or commercial vendors are named in the solicitation - Opportunity is open to vendors capable of advanced catalyst synthesis and testing
