Description
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is considering issuance of an amendment to Renewed Facility Operating License No. DPR-66, issued to Vistra Operations Company LLC and Energy Harbor Nuclear Generation LLC, for the operation of Beaver Valley Power Station, Unit No. 1. The proposed amendment would revise the technical specifications to allow an alternative completion time for restoring equipment to accommodate repairs. The amendment specifically allows a one-time extended completion time from 72 hours to 12 days to restore one train of Emergency Core Cooling System (ECCS) to operable status during on-line repairs of a safety injection pump. The NRC is seeking public comments and offers an opportunity to request a hearing and petition for leave to intervene.
