Description
The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) requests public comment on the American Pyrotechnics Association's (APA) application to extend its current exemptions from the Agency's hours-of-service (HOS) regulations to include one new member, North Star Fireworks LLC. The APA represents the domestic fireworks industry and has held waivers or exemptions during Independence Day periods since 2005. The exemptions allow certain member companies relief from the 14-hour rule and the electronic logging device rule during Independence Day celebrations. FMCSA will review the application, safety analyses, and public comments before deciding to grant or deny the exemption.
