Description
The FAA is renewing the charter of the National Airspace System Advisory Committee (NAC), formerly known as the NextGen Advisory Committee, and is soliciting nominations for new members. The NAC provides independent advice and recommendations to the Secretary of Transportation through the FAA Administrator and addresses issues related to the future of the Air Traffic Management System and the integration of new technologies. The committee seeks to resolve challenges involving concepts, requirements, operational capabilities, and technology use affecting aeronautical operations. Membership is limited to no more than 25 members representing various sectors of the aerospace community, including manufacturers, airports, air traffic management suppliers, general aviation, powered-lift, commercial space, and unmanned aircraft systems. The committee meets approximately three times a year, primarily virtually, and members serve two-year terms with possible reappointment.
