Description
This project seeks to enhance, recalibrate, validate, and operationalize existing HydroGeoSphere models for the Peace and Athabasca River Basin in northern Alberta to support near real-time, short-term, and seasonal hydrological forecasting. The basins are prioritized due to recent droughts, changing snowpack and ice dynamics, reduced wetland and peatland storage, and increasing water-use pressures. The models currently lack real-time meteorological data integration and require optimization and validation to support robust streamflow forecasting.
