Description

The Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) is offering the FY26 Preparing for Active Shooter Situations (PASS) Program, which provides nationally recognized, scenario-based training for law enforcement, first responders, and mental health and social service providers to prepare communities for active shooter threats or terrorism. The program aims to increase safety nationwide by training various emergency response professionals including law enforcement, fire, EMS, dispatchers, medical personnel, facility security, and emergency management. Priority access to training is given to School Resource Officers funded under the COPS Hiring Program to enhance active shooter preparedness in schools. The training aligns with the 2016 POLICE Act and offers integrated response courses.
