Description

Tribal PREP competitively funds projects that educate American Indian/Alaska Native youth ages 10-19, and expectant and parenting youth under age 21, on abstinence and contraception to prevent pregnancy, STIs, and HIV. Projects must implement at least three of six congressionally mandated adulthood preparation subjects including healthy relationships, adolescent development, financial literacy, parent-child communication, educational and career success, and healthy life skills. Projects must replicate evidence-based effective programs proven to change behavior within AI/AN tribal communities, be medically accurate, age-appropriate, and culturally appropriate for AI/AN youth.
