Description
The Chemical Evolution of the Solid Earth and Volcanology (CESEV) program aims to advance fundamental knowledge about the origin and evolution of the Earth, including its core, mantle, and continental crust. It supports a wide range of laboratory, field, experimental, theoretical, and computational studies on high-temperature igneous and metamorphic geochemical and petrologic processes. The program covers volcanology, magmatic processes, ore deposits, economic geology, and geochronology, with research helping to improve understanding of volcanic hazards and natural resource distribution. Proposals may be submitted by non-profit, non-academic organizations and institutions of higher education in the U.S.
