This opportunity involves the replacement of chillers and associated systems at Training Center #8280, Baumholder Smith Barracks, Germany, for the U.S. Army Garrison Rheinland-Pfalz. - Government Buyer: - Department of the Army - United States Army Garrison Rheinland-Pfalz, Baumholder Military Community - Directorate of Public Works - Products and Equipment Requested: - 2 air-cooled chillers in heat pump configuration (minimum 95 kW cooling capacity) - Features: inverter-controlled compressors, EC fans, low-GWP refrigerant, BACnet IP or Modbus interface, integrated water pump, own control system with display - 2 supply air/fresh air fans with electric motors and frequency converters - 2 buffer tanks (1,000 liters each) with diffusion-tight insulation - 1 plate heat exchanger and hydraulic system with pump - 1 cold water pump (replacement) - 2 expansion tanks for heating and cold-water supply - 2 make-up water systems with filter cartridges for water softening - 1 refrigerant detection system with 6 sensors - 1 domestic hot water circulation pump (replacement) - 2 exhaust air duct systems (galvanized, insulated, with smoke and refrigerant detectors) - 1 new DDC control cabinet (Schneider Electric EcoStruxure or Kieback & Peter), touchscreen, BACnet/Modbus IP, BMS integration - Services Requested: - Dismantling and disposal of existing chillers, fans, ducts, pumps, pipes, and control cabinet - Delivery, installation, and commissioning of all new equipment - Programming and integration with the existing building management system - Manufacturer commissioning and on-site briefings for DPW staff - Unique/Notable Requirements: - Chillers must use low-GWP refrigerant and have advanced control/integration features - All new systems must be integrated with the existing Building Management System via BACnet IP or Modbus - As-built documentation and compliance with German regulations for disposal and installation - Refrigerant detection system with multiple sensors for safety - No specific OEMs are mandated, but Schneider Electric EcoStruxure or Kieback & Peter are referenced for the DDC control system.

Description

The U.S. Army, 409th Contracting Support Brigade (409th CSB), Unit 23163, APO AE 09227, is holding a Site Visit for Request for Information for the project number GDP-B0683-6P for the Replacement of chillers in training Center #8280 loacted in Baumholder Smith Barracks, Baumholder, Germany. The site visit is scheduled for Thursday, 25 June 2026 at 1200 h Central Europen Summer Time (CEST). All participants shall meet in front of building #8280 in Baumholder Smith Barracks. A solicitation for this project will be released at a later date.
