Description

The Department of the National Research Council Canada (NRC) and the Herzberg Astronomy and Astrophysics Research Centre (HAA) require one Instrument Scientist to support the Near Infrared Imager and Slitless Spectrograph (NIRISS) on the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST). The support will be provided at the Space Telescope Science Institute (STScI) in Baltimore, Maryland, USA. The work involves contributing to the development of the ground system at the JWST Science and Operations Center (S&OC) that supports NIRISS and the JWST mission. The contract duration is 21 months with an estimated value between 300,000 and 350,000 CAD plus up to 15,000 CAD per year for travel and publication fees.
