This opportunity seeks experienced contractors for a large-scale marsh creation and restoration project in southwest Louisiana, led by the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS). - Government Buyer: - U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) - Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) - Project Scope: - South Grand Chenier Baker Tract Marsh Creation Project (ME-32) - Create and restore approximately 466 acres of marsh using dredged material from the Gulf of America - Construct approximately 20,375 linear feet of earthen containment dike to reduce erosion and protect local communities - Key tasks include hydraulic dredging, containment dike construction, marsh filling, and installation/removal of project infrastructure - Products/Services Requested: - Construction services for marsh creation and nourishment - Dredging and placement of fill material - Construction and removal of containment dikes and dewatering structures - Hydrographic and magnetic surveys - Installation of staff gauges and placement of dredge pipeline - Quality control, construction surveys, and as-built documentation - Quantities: - Multiple line items, including up to 175 units for demobilization and as-built services, 92 units for dewatering structure removal, and significant quantities for marsh filling and dike construction - Unique Requirements: - Contractors must have expertise in hydraulic dredging, marsh creation, and earthen dike construction - The project is valued at over $10 million and may be set aside for small businesses - The period of performance is 339 days, including 38 weather days - No specific OEMs, part numbers, or proprietary products are specified; the focus is on construction services and expertise

The USDA-FPAC BC is posting this sources sought to identify interested contractors/firms for the following project: 

Brief description:

The South Grand Chenier Baker Tract Marsh Creation (ME-32) project is located in the Mermentau Basin, Chenier Sub-Basin, and  Hog Bayou Watershed south of LA Hwy 82 and directly west of Rockefeller Wildlife Refuge. Material dredged from the Gulf of  America will be used to create and nourish approximately 466 acres of marsh in southwest Louisiana. Approximately 20,375 LF of  earthen containment dike will be constructed. The goal of the project is to create new wetland habitat, restore degraded marsh, and  reduce wave erosion of organic soils.
