Description

The Florida Department of Health, Bureau of Public Health Laboratories (BPHL), requires an FDA-approved confirmatory assay system to perform HIV-1/HIV-2 Supplemental differentiation testing to confirm HIV infection in patients testing positive on an initial screen. The assay must be capable of testing whole blood, serum, plasma, and in-house validated oral fluid, conforming to CDC 2014 HIV Diagnostic Algorithm guidelines. The procurement is a single source purchase of the Bio-Rad Laboratories Geenius™ System assays and controls. The contract term is for three years with an estimated value of $460,000.00. The Geenius System is the only FDA-approved HIV-1/HIV-2 differential assay currently on the U.S. market and is distributed solely by Bio-Rad Laboratories.
