The City of West Des Moines Parks and Recreation Department is seeking bids for construction improvements at Southwoods Park Disc Golf Course. - Government Buyer: - City of West Des Moines Parks and Recreation Department - Contact: Kevin Conn, Landscape Architect - OEMs and Vendors: - United Seeds Inc. (seed supplier) - Weber Stone Company (limestone supplier) - Products/Services Requested: - Seeding with shade seed (Poa Trivialis) and lawn seed (Rescue Plus) from United Seeds Inc. - Landscape plantings: concolor fir, eastern red cedar, serviceberry, hornbeam, witchhazel, viburnum, bladdernut - Installation of limestone benches and outcrop steps using Anamosa limestone from Weber Stone Company - Construction of granite boulder retaining walls and cheekwalls - Roadstone pathways (3/4" with fines, compacted) and roadstone around existing concrete pads with minor grading - Temporary rolled erosion control fabric (SUDAS Type 4) - Unique/Notable Requirements: - All plant material must be warranted for one year and comply with ANSI Z60.1 nursery stock standards - Proof of procurement for all shrubs and trees is required - Contractor must protect existing site improvements and restore disturbed areas - Site must be left clean and orderly upon completion - Liquidated damages will be assessed for late completion - No other specific OEMs required beyond United Seeds Inc. and Weber Stone Company

Description

The City of West Des Moines is soliciting bids for the construction of disc golf improvements at Southwoods Park Disc Golf Course. The project scope includes seeding, landscape plantings, limestone benches, limestone outcrop steps, roadstone pathways, roadstone around existing concrete pads with minor grading, and granite boulder retaining walls. The work must be completed by September 30, 2026. Bids are to be submitted electronically by June 17, 2026, and the City reserves the right to accept or reject any bids and waive irregularities.
