Description

The FAA is superseding Airworthiness Directive (AD) 2020-05-01 for all Rolls-Royce Deutschland Ltd & Co KG Model Trent 1000 series engines. The AD requires initial and repetitive borescope inspections (BSI) of the high-pressure turbine (HPT) blades and replacement of blades that fail inspection or reach life limits. Updated service material introduces improved HPT blades and expands inspection areas, adding limits for axial cracks and reducing BSI thresholds. This AD mandates performing BSIs for axial cracks and requires additional inspections or blade replacements based on results, with an optional terminating action for repetitive BSIs. The effective date is June 30, 2026, and comments are due by July 31, 2026.
