Description
This proposed rule aims to amend the Class D and Class E airspace at Chicago/Rockford, IL. The FAA is proposing this action following a biennial airspace review pursuant to FAA Order JO 7400.2R to bring the airspace into compliance with FAA orders and support instrument flight rule (IFR) procedures and operations. The proposal includes expanding the Class D airspace radius from 4.6 miles to 5.7 miles and modifying the Class E airspace radius from 7.1 miles to 8.2 miles with adjustments to the extensions south of the airport. Comments on the proposal must be received by July 30, 2026.
