The National Capital Commission (NCC) is seeking competitive proposals for the rehabilitation of the New Orchard Twin Bridges in Ottawa, Ontario. - Government Buyer: - National Capital Commission (NCC) is the sole government agency procuring these services. - OEMs and Vendors: - No specific Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) or commercial vendors are named in the solicitation or attachments. - Products and Services Requested: - Major bridge rehabilitation services, including: - Partial depth and full depth concrete removals and repairs (abutments, wing walls, bearing seats, soffits, fascia, deck, deck ends) - Removal and replacement of concrete curbs, sidewalks, curtain walls, and approach slabs - Removal of existing railings and installation of new crash-tested metal bridge barriers (TL-4) - Replacement of bearings (including natural rubber bearing strips) - Replacement of waterproofing systems and asphalt pavements (including new waterproofing membrane and asphalt wearing surfaces) - Repair of flagstone slope protection - Installation of box beam guide rail systems and energy absorbing terminals - Traffic management and control, including temporary barriers, signage, and pedestrian/cyclist facilities - Site setup, environmental protection, quality control, and safety planning - Supply and installation of various construction materials (concrete, reinforcing steel, granular materials, pavement marking, etc.) - Specific quantities for key items, e.g., 250 dowels, 130 tonnes of Granular B Type II backfill, 4 natural rubber bearing strips, 4 box beam bursting energy absorbing terminals, 299 box beam guide rails, 410 temporary concrete barriers - Unique or Notable Requirements: - The project aims to extend the bridges' service life by at least 30 years - Compliance with Canadian trade agreements and reciprocal procurement eligibility - Robust insurance and security requirements - No lane closures permitted from late November to early April; two lanes of traffic must be maintained in each direction during this period - Contractor responsible for detailed quality control, environmental, and safety plans - All technical details, deliverables, and pricing are specified in the bid forms and technical documents

The Government of Canada, through the National Capital Commission (NCC), is seeking proposals for the rehabilitation of the New Orchard Twin Bridge. The project aims to extend the lifespan of the bridges by at least 30 years. The scope includes partial depth concrete removals and repairs on abutments, wing walls, bearing seats, soffits, fascia, deck, and deck ends; removal and replacement of concrete curbs, sidewalks, and curtain walls; removal of existing railings and installation of new crash-tested railings; replacement of waterproofing systems and asphalt pavements; replacement of bearings; replacement of approach slabs; and repair of flagstone slope protection. The contract duration is 12 months starting from July 27, 2026.
