Description
The Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility (Jefferson Lab) is seeking qualified small business firms capable of performing the below scope of potential work. Jefferson Lab is a U.S. Department of Energy nuclear physics research facility located in Newport News, Virginia, managed and operated by SURATech under prime contract to DOE.
Scope of Work:
Project scope is the replacement of the primary Experimental Hall C indoor direct expansion air handling unit and matching outdoor condensing unit. Work will also include installation of a maintenance platform for servicing the indoor air handling unit and updated BAS controls. The existing system is suspended approximately 75 feet above the finished floor inside of Experimental Hall C. Sophisticated material handling will be necessary to lower the old unit, then lift and reinstall the new unit and appurtenances. Material handling must be performed by Barnhart Crane and Rigging, utilizing method number 2 in the attached material handling engineering study. Due to majority of the work being performed inside of Hall C and at height, overall work site safety consciousness and precise project coordination with Jefferson Lab staff and project subcontractors will be vital to project success.
