The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District is issuing this Sources Sought Announcement for Tree Removal at The United States Military Academy at West Point, New York. This announcement is to determine interest, availability, and capability of Small Business and Large Business concerns for this project.
The project consists of clearing all trees greater than 3 inches diameter at breast height from approximately 1 acre of inclined rock face below Thayer Hall on the West Point Military Academy campus. All trees must be felled between November 01, 2026 and March 30, 2027 . Trees are to be cut flush to ground as practicable, with all felled trees hauled offsite and disposed.
The rock face rises over 100 feet vertically in places and ranges from vertical to approximately 1V:1H slope. The site cannot be accessed from the top due to the presence of a multistory building built into the slope at the crest. All access must be from the toe of the rock face.
