NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center is procuring a Zeiss Contura 12/18/8 coordinate measuring machine (CMM) and associated hardware, sensors, accessories, and retrofit services to enhance its measurement capabilities. - Government Buyer: - NASA Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) - OEM and Vendor: - Carl Zeiss Industrial Quality Solutions LLC (Zeiss) - Products and Hardware Requested: - CONTURA 12/18/8 CMM system with RDS-D8-CAA and DotScan 3mm sensor (1 unit) - Multiple sensors: DotScan sensors (1mm, 3mm, 10mm measuring ranges) - Articulating probe holders, reference spheres, holders, probe sockets, auxiliary tools - Controller IFC2421 with Zeiss Firmware - Optical waveguides, patch cables, DIN rails, fasteners, and other accessories - Consumables such as one-click fiber optic cleaner - Services Requested: - Installation supervision (unpacking, assembly, utility hookup, calibration, accuracy tests) - Accredited ISO 10360 basic calibration - Sensor retrofit installation (per day and per sensor) - Notable Requirements: - Sole source procurement from Zeiss, the OEM, due to unique hardware and retrofit compatibility - All hardware and services must be Zeiss-branded and compatible with the CONTURA system - Period of performance is 12 weeks after receipt of order - Quantities: - Most hardware and sensors are single units; some accessories and installation services are ordered in multiples - No alternative OEMs or part substitutions are permitted

Description

NASA/NSSC has a requirement for Zeiss Contura machine (CMM) Hardware and Retrofit Services. NASA/NSSC intends to issue a sole source contract to CARL ZEISS INDUSTRIAL QUALITY SOLUTIONS LLC, 6250 Sycamore LN N, Maple Grove, Minnesota 55369-6310 under the authority of FAR 12.102(a). It has been determined that CARL ZEISS INDUSTRIAL QUALITY SOLUTIONS LLC is the sole provider of Zeiss Contura machine (CMM) Hardware and Retrofit Services. NASA/NSSC will be the procuring center for this effort. Performance will be located at NASA/ Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC). The Government intends to acquire Commercial items or services using the provisions, clauses and procedures prescribed in FAR Part 12 for Commercial The NAICS Code for this procurement is 334513. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:00 a.m. Central Standard Time on 6/15/2026. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government.
