Description
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) invites public comments on its intention to request approval from the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) for a reinstatement with modification of a previously approved information collection. This collection pertains to labeling and reporting requirements under 49 CFR part 583, Automobile Parts Content Labeling, as mandated by the American Automobile Labeling Act. The modification includes an increase in the number of manufacturers subject to the requirements, which increases the total annual burden hours. Manufacturers of new passenger motor vehicles must disclose the origin of parts, engine, transmission, and final assembly location, and submit annual reports to demonstrate compliance.
