Description
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District has completed an inventory of associated funerary objects in accordance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA). They have determined a cultural affiliation between these funerary objects and Indian Tribes or Native Hawaiian organizations. The inventory includes five associated funerary objects removed from a site in Lyman County, South Dakota, in 1983. These objects are culturally affiliated with the Lower Brule Sioux Tribe of the Lower Brule Reservation, South Dakota. Repatriation of these objects may occur on or after July 13, 2026.
