Description
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) will conduct a scoping process to gather information necessary to prepare an environmental impact statement (EIS) to evaluate the environmental impacts of issuing a license to Orano Enrichment USA, LLC to construct and operate a gaseous centrifuge uranium enrichment facility in Roane County, Tennessee. The NRC is seeking comments on the scope of the EIS as part of the development process. The U.S. Department of Energy Oak Ridge Office of Environmental Management will be a cooperating agency in preparing the EIS. Comments on the scope of the EIS are due by July 13, 2026.
