City of Laredo Solicits Bids for Shiloh Bike Trails Construction and Amenities

The City of Laredo Engineering Department is seeking bids for the construction of the Shiloh Bike Trails under the Recreational Trails Grant Program. - Project Scope: - Construction of a 10-foot wide, 1775 linear foot shared-use hike and bike trail - Includes two cast-in-place 5'x4' reinforced concrete box culverts with headwalls and pedestrian railing - Installation of landscaping, rock berms, solar-powered lighting, bike repair stands with pumps, signage, and emergency phone towers - Key Products and Amenities: - Reinforced concrete pavement (approx. 17,450 SF) - Subgrade preparation, import fill, and drainage features (valley gutter, rock berms) - Pedestrian rail (up to 40 LF), signage, and stabilized construction entrances - Bike repair stands with pumps (Saris 26347BLK or equivalent) - Outdoor public bike pumps (Saris 26242 or equivalent) - Emergency phone towers (Talkaphone ETP-MTE-WP or equivalent) - Solar-powered light poles (GALN-SA2B-740-24VDC or equivalent) - Notable Requirements: - ADA compliance for trail and amenities - Emergency phone towers must have cell service capability (service not included) - All specified products allow for equivalent alternatives - Compliance with federal requirements: Davis Bacon Act, Buy America, Equal Opportunity - Construction contract duration is 90 working days - Bid includes a $20,000 contingency allowance
