Description
The City of Cortland is seeking written proposals from tree planting professionals to procure and plant fifty-two (52) quality trees with a caliper of 2"–2.5". It is strongly recommended to consider Balled and Burlapped (B&B) nursery stock to ensure successful establishment and long-term viability. The project aims to replace the City’s tree canopy, improve aesthetics, and provide shade to protect pedestrians from harsh conditions such as urban heat islands, extreme weather, and traffic noise and pollution. The trees will be planted on city-owned property or in the city right of way along various streets, with an inventory of all trees planted required. Planting is scheduled for fall 2026 (September 1st-November 1st).
