These centers will administer regional child care substitute pools to support licensed and registered child care programs by providing qualified substitute caregivers to fill in during staff shortages or absences, ensuring continuity of care for families. Up to four awards will be made statewide, one per OCFS-defined region, with total funding anticipated at $12.5 million over five years, approximately $625,000 annually per awardee. The services will be provided at no cost to child care providers, and CCSCs will receive technical assistance and technology support from the Early Care and Learning Council (ECLC).
