Saskatoon Public Library (SPL) is seeking a qualified firm to provide comprehensive library relocation services for the transition to its New Central Library (NCL). - Government Buyer: - Saskatoon Public Library (SPL), represented by Darlene Biggins, Director, Finance & Administrative Services - Scope of Work: - Relocate approximately 233,000 collection items (books, audiovisual materials, magazines, newspapers, archival/local history items) - Move 1,500 pieces of furniture and equipment (desks, chairs, tables, filing cabinets, shelving units, grand piano, etc.), including disassembly and reassembly as needed - Transport 500 technology items (computers, monitors, TVs, scanners, quick check machines, charging carts, etc.) with special packing requirements - Disassemble, move, and reassemble 860 library shelving bays - Move 300 goods and small items (boxes, bins, totes, documents, supplies, puppet stage, music stands, screens, banners, tents, podiums, small appliances) - Services Required: - Pre-move consultation and planning - Packing, moving, unpacking, and shelving of all items - Disposal of packing materials - Coordination with SPL move team - Special handling for archival/local history items and technology - Notable Requirements: - Proven experience in large-scale library, archive, or similar moves is mandatory - Ability to handle specialized items and coordinate phased moves - No specific OEMs or product brands are referenced in the solicitation

Description

Saskatoon Public Library (SPL) is seeking proposals from qualified firms to provide comprehensive moving services to support the operational transition to a New Central Library (NCL). The successful firm will coordinate and execute the moving of the collection, shelving, furniture, and goods from SPL's existing Central Library, Frances Morrison (FMCL), and an Operations Centre (OC) to the NCL and other locations. The contract term is expected from September 2026 to June 2027, with primary move activity occurring in May 2027. The firm must have a proven track record of large-scale library, archive, or similar moving projects and work closely with SPL's move team and project stakeholders to ensure timely completion.
