Description
The Coast Guard will enforce various safety zones for annual marine events in the Captain of the Port Detroit zone to protect life and property on navigable waters before, during, and after these events. During enforcement periods, no person or vessel may enter the safety zones without permission from the Captain of the Port Detroit or a designated representative. The enforcement applies to multiple events including fireworks and festivals in locations such as New Baltimore, Grosse Pointe Farms, Detroit, Algonac, Bay City, and others. The Coast Guard will notify the public via Local Notice to Mariners and VHF radio broadcasts when the regulations are in effect.
