The Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) is extending the deadline for written responses to the initial round of comments regarding the safeguard measure recommended by the United States International Trade Commission (USITC) on quartz surface products (QSP). The USITC determined that QSPs are being imported in increased quantities causing serious injury or threat to the domestic industry. The extension is due to technical difficulties with posting documents, and the new deadline for comments is June 10, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. EST. Additionally, a public hearing will be held on June 16, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. EST.
