The U.S. Navy's Military Sealift Command (MSC) is seeking information from industry for a one-time charter of a specialized container vessel to support military prepositioning missions. - Government Buyer: - U.S. Navy, Military Sealift Command (MSC), COMSC Prepositioning (PM3), N103B - Points of contact: Yvonne Escoto and Stephanie Ricker - Vessel Requirements: - One self-sustaining container ship (U.S. or foreign-flagged, to be reflagged U.S.) - Must carry 900 20-foot ISO ammunition containers - Minimum speed: 16 knots - Minimum range: 13,000 nautical miles - Equipped with environmental control systems for cargo holds - Two electric-hydraulic cargo cranes (each with 30 long ton capacity) - Fixed water spray cooling system compliant with SOLAS standards - Charter Details: - 11-month charter period - Delivery at Military Ocean Terminal Sunny Point, NC - Vessel will support worldwide military cargo transport and prepositioning - No specific OEMs or vessel manufacturers are named; the opportunity is open to both U.S. and foreign-flagged vessel owners/operators able to meet the requirements.
