The California Department of Pesticide Regulation (CDPR) is seeking a contractor to provide comprehensive interpretation services to support limited English proficient (LEP) individuals and staff statewide. - Government Buyer: - California Department of Pesticide Regulation (CDPR), including the Executive Office Environmental Justice and Equity - Services support both CDPR and County Agricultural Commissioners (CACs) and their staff - Services Requested: - Simultaneous event interpretation for in-person, virtual, and hybrid events (2-4 times monthly, 2-8 hours per event, up to 200 participants) - Includes setup, equipment provision, and both spoken and signed languages - Interpreters must be qualified/certified and familiar with pesticide regulation terminology - Sight and consecutive interpreting may be required - On-demand 24/7 over-the-phone interpretation (OPI) - Toll-free access, conference call support, and one-minute connection time - Supports interviews, inspections, meetings, and emergency response - Voiceover recordings (1-12 times annually) - Native-speaking voice talent for public service announcements and educational videos - Includes casting, interpreting, recording, editing, and post-production - Project management support services - Planning, coordination, monthly reporting, training, and customer support - Languages Required: - Spanish (primary), Mandarin, Hmong, Vietnamese, Laos, Tagalog, Punjabi, American Sign Language, Cantonese, Dari, Haitian Creole, and Mexican Indigenous languages (e.g., Mixtec, Zapotec) - For Latin American indigenous languages, contractor should attempt to subcontract with specific organizations listed by CDPR - Unique/Notable Requirements: - Interpreters must have at least two years of simultaneous conference interpreting experience (preferred) - Familiarity with technical pesticide regulation content is required - No specific OEMs or vendors are named in the solicitation - No product line items; all requirements are for professional services

The California Department of Pesticide Regulation (CDPR) is soliciting bids for interpretation services to provide prompt, accurate, and effective spoken and signed communication for limited English proficient (LEP) individuals. Services include simultaneous event interpretation (in-person throughout California, virtual, and hybrid), on-demand 24/7 over-the-phone interpretation, and voiceover recordings as needed. These services will support CDPR staff and some County Agricultural Commissioners (CACs) and their staff. The contract term is from September 1, 2026, to June 30, 2028.
